Here we are. Officially in the home stretch and last trimester. Feeling pretty good but that could be due to the chiropractor. The doctor is pretty happy with our progress and says we are still very low risk. That's always good news to hear. So for the last 2 days Lemon has found her feet and bum. Her favourite thing at the moment is to see how far she can stick her bum out before I push on it to get her to stop. She does the same with her feet. All you moms out there are probably thinking "honey the fun has just begun, just you wait." I also can't get over how many people have told me I look like I'm going to have this baby tomorrow. Has nobody seen a woman at term before? I am VERY much smaller than they are. Here's the picture so you can decide.
This week went by quite quickly. However, I developed quite a lot of back pain. More so in the muscles than the bones. A colleague of Ashes has let me borrow her Homedics massage chair much to my delight. It feels so good to sit and get a good shiatsu massage after a long day in an office chair. I also feel better knowing that Ash can take a break too. I think I might have to go and get a massage and even a chiropractic adjustment here real soon.
Here's the latest picture for the update
This weekend has been quite a hot one. We got to hang out with a couple of our good friends and enjoy the sun while it lasted. On Saturday we spent a part of the day hanging out in an inflatable raft with our friends Ryan and Wendy. We paddled around a small man made lake at their house. Turns out the lake is not so small when you are sitting on a hot rubber raft and quite pregnant. Non the less it was tons of fun and then we sat in the air conditioned house for the rest of the time.
Today was hot but not too bad. We started our day off with a nice long dog walk in the morning and ended it with some yummy brekkies at the local eatery the Red Bicycle. They are all completely organic and hormone free so the food it absolutely amazing.
Then this afternoon we had a great picnic with Rob, Liz and Sydney. We had some yummy ribs on the grill and the rest of the non pregnant people played Bocci Ball. Ash was a superstar and won 3 games. Much to Robs dislike. Sydney and I hung out together most of the time.
So I am about 22 weeks 2 days along now and feeling a little drained this week. All I wanted to do was sleep again. I remember those days right in the beginning. The fatigue was so debilitating. I don't want that again, I like wanting to go and be able to do stuff. Oh well I'm sure it's going to get worse the bigger I get and the hotter summer gets. Speaking of summer. Have any of you ladies that have been pregnant bought a maternity swimsuit? What a piece of fabric that is. I decided to go to Motherhood maternity last week. The lady at the store was very helpful almost TOO helpful. When I described how different my body was and how I had always had trouble with swimsuits I could see the concern turn to challenge in her eyes. The next thing I new I had half the swimsuit rack in my arms and was being ushered into a changing room. There I stood looking at the mounds of fabric but mainly staring at the body in the mirror. Now I know I see it everyday but that day just seemed to blow my mind. WOW! That's literally what came out of my mouth as I stood there staring. I finally snapped out of my trance and started trying on the suits. When will the designers of these things realize that just because you are a small on the top doesn't mean that your butt is too. I mean really, YOUR BUTT GROWS WITH PREGNANCY DUMMIES! It's bad enough that we are noticing the changes in the privacy of our own homes, not to say that we are coming to terms with it yet, but don't make us feel even bigger than we do when we stand naked under fluorescent lighting on a good day. For goodness sake cut us a bigger piece of fabric for a change! Oh well after about an hour (I kid you not) I made a choice and have a pretty suit at home that I will be willing to don in the heat as I sit sipping juice in the kiddy pool in our back yard.
If only we all looked like this when we are pregnant. Word of warning...maternity stores are the craziest, scariest places in the entire mall. Enter with extreme caution. However, I did make my first impulsive purchase but for those of you who know me would expect nothing less. Here she is....
This a from a range of toys from the French Manufacturer Latitude Enfant. All the toys in this range are knitted and certified safe from birth. Isn't Gabby just adorable? I might be biased though.
Well, this is going to have to be the last blog of the day but I couldn't not post these pics. I was stuck on the St. Johns bridge on the way to work the other day, in stand still traffic, so I had a few moments to snap a couple pics. Isn't the fog an amazing thing? There was a 7 car pile up in the end. I hope everyone was ok?
Okay, so I think I dog has some second child jealousy. She can be snoring up a storm across the room when Jane jumps on my lap and within a second Zola is there chasing Jane away and trying to get a head rub. What's that all about? Does this dog think she is starved for attention? I'm confused.
And to make things a little more crazy we decided to let her sit on the couch with us provided she is on her blanket. Needless to say I am unsure if our dog will ever walk again. She hasn't moved for the past 3hours. Well, I guess she isn't using our log bed as a chew toy anymore so I should be happy. Right?
Thanks for the comment on my blog. It is so fun to be able to post pictures for everyone. You... read more
